Kimpton Parish Council is delighted to be part of The Queen’s Green Canopy – a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. 7 crab apple trees have been planted within the new hedgerow at Parkfield Sports Ground, each tree representing a decade of the Queen’s reign.
The special plaque is made by Armed Forces veterans from high-quality recyclable Corten steel which is designed to form a natural protective layer of reddish-brown rust over time to protect against the elements. This weathering process ensures that the plaque will last for years to come. Our thanks to members of the Kimpton Bench Working Party for installing the plaque and post.
