Get Involved

Kimpton is a vibrant community full of residents coming together to create positive change in our village. It is through the efforts and enthusiasm of volunteers that there are many regular community events and one-off projects throughout the year to get involved in. Many of these are supported by Kimpton Parish Council either though permission to use council land, financial support or active councillor involvement. Whether you want to get involved with the organisation of event or want to donate a few hours to helping others there are numerous ways that you can contribute, make a difference and meet new friends.

Join A Working Group

Many of the parish council activities, campaigns and projects are organised by working groups. Made up of councillors and other resident volunteers, this is where local people get together to tackle issues that concern them.

This is a great way to get involved in working with neighbours in ways that make a real difference to Kimpton.

The current working groups are listed below:

  • Allotments
  • Environment
  • Highways and Parking
  • Kimpton Bench
  • Public Spaces and Playgrounds
  • Rights of Way
  • Sports Clubs

Each of the groups works in slightly different ways with a leader and holding a few meetings through the year, except for Kimpton Bench Working Party which operates under the leadership of Bob Finch. The working groups make recommendations to the Parish Council, which decides which proposals to take forward.

There is no limit to the amount of working groups the parish council can have, within reason, so if you have an idea for a new group and a passion to make it happen let us know.
