Herts Fire and Rescue will be performing a pump test on Claggy Road, Kimpton on Saturday 27 February to ensure their crews are able to locate water pumps quickly and safely in the event of possible flooding. The test will involve checking drains and access to the sump. Crews will not be pumping the water – this will take place over weekend 6/7 March, once crews have established the current systems in place.
This exercise forms part of a coordinated plan between Herts Fire and Rescue, Herts County Council, North Herts District Council, Kimpton Parish Council and the Environment Agency.
Investigations are currently underway to better understand what can be done to limit any possible flooding.
Crews will do their best to keep disruption to a minimum, thank you for your patience.
