Part Night Lighting comes to Kimpton

As you may well have seen in other parts of the County, Hertfordshire County Council are reducing the hours that street lights are switched on, in order to reduce the electricity consumption and save several million pounds per annum.

The policy is that unless there are major intersections, junction lighting systems, or areas of traffic calming, all street lighting should be switched off 12 midnight and back on, subject to ambient light levels, at 6 am.

Implementation of this will begin in Kimpton, Peter’s Green and Blackmore End in June, and further information can be obtained from the Hertfordshire County Council website:
